The Warehouse Hotel Singapore

“Riverfont Warehouse Reincarnated”

STYLE : Urban City Stay

VIBE : Sophisticated city lodging in the heart of Robertson Quay. The Lobby / Bar set-up with its loft ceiling has a real sense of wow.

ROOMS : From cosy Warehouse Rooms to Warehouse Lofts and River Suites, there’s a room type to suit everyone. I was allocated a Riverview Room on the second floor affording peaceful river views. The industrial designed interiors lend a sense of history to what was originally a warehouse during the spice trade (and a salubrious nightclub in its last incarnation). I don’t normally warm to hard concrete interiors but these seem to work.. walls are softened with original beams and historic conservation detailing which exude character and charm. The bed was deliciously soft with comfortable cloud like pillows. The bathroom opened onto the bedroom with the same modern feel, it had the most flattering lighting.. along with plenty of vanity space for all my toiletry products. Oh and I can say, this is one of the better hotels showers I have ever experienced! Lastly the  Mini Bar of locally produced food stuffs is a fun touch (ever tried Gourmet Salted Egg Yolk Potato Crisps?)

POOL & GYM: A glass jewelled box perched on the top floor, lends itself more to a quick dip than all day lounging or laps.. but then again, your aren’t in Singapore to lounge poolside for days! No gym on site – the very helpful concierge can direct you to some recommended health clubs nearby.

RESTAURANT: Po, the in-house restaurant helmed by hot chef of the moment Willin Low who is a Mod-Sin food pioneer and the founder of Wild Rocket. I loved his interpretation of Popiah – a Singaporean version of the Mexican taco – a pork, shrimp and bamboo shoot filling (taking 4 hours to caramelise) is assembled with eggs, crushed peanuts crispy flatfish, coriander sprigs and beansprouts in fresh wheat skins. Add house made chilli sauce and freshly ground garlic to your taste and roll away! I can honestly say it was delicious!

BAR: The glam bar sits in the lobby, it gives the hotel a fab vibe come early evening – it appears this just might be the hottest spot for a nightcap in Singapore right now!

KIDS: Yes, they are welcome but rollaways are not permitted in the rooms. It’s a sofa  sleep over for the little ones in a River suite only.

GETTING THERE: A quick 25 minute car journey is all that stands between your airport arrival and one of the hotel’s signature drinks on check-in.

LOCATION: Robertson Quay – the area has some great restaurants and it’s an easy walk to Clark Quay.

I stayed as a guest of The Warehouse Hotel.
