Palazzo Margherita
The latest addition to the fabulous Francis Ford Coppola Resort Collection, Palazzo Margherita in southern Italy is top of my Hot List right now. Always on the look out for the next fabulous resort, hotel or destination…this is my first pick for 2012.
This gorgeous palazzo is situated in Bernalda, a small hilltop town near the Ionian Sea in the Basilicata region of southern Italy. It is just twenty minutes from a number of pristine, white-sand beaches where one can choose between quiet seclusion or beach-club action and shoreside tavernas.

The palatially sophisticated and rustic bedrooms are Italian chic at it’s best. With luxurious linens and bathrooms, this private palazzo will be one to watch in 2012 and beyond.
Situated close to the area of Puglia, think of combining your stay with a few nights at the fabulously chic Il Convento di Santa Maria di Costantinopoli, owned by Lord Alistair McAlpine – a B & B like no other! (oh and no website for this one, it’s that chic!) I have had this area on my radar for while now, and now it’s time to visit.
