I was lucky enough to be chosen to be included on the Venice prefam trip for ILTM December 2011.
We started in Venice, my home for two nights was the magnificent and very famous Hotel Danieli (…think Angelina Jolie in “The Tourist”), the suite overlooked the lagoon and was everything I dreamt Venice to be. Our first night was spent at a dinner hosted by the dashing Alain Bullo, GM at Londra Palace, a hotel of pure comfort and refinement, the calm cream interior of the lobby and ground floor restaurant, with their subtle mosaic floors make for a perfect base and the views are to die for from the calm, chic rooms. Alain runs a tight ship and of course the dinner was superb and a lot of fun.
I did get to inspect other fabulous properties whilst I was in Venice, one was The Metropole (just down from The Danieli, past the Ponte dei Sospiri /Bridge of Sighs) and at the charming Starhotels Splendid we were also lucky enough to be hosted to the most amazing lunch by the gorgeous Mirella Bellantone the Director of Sales and Salvatore Pisani, the charming GM. The food and company so wonderful we didn’t want to leave, oh and the Proseco flowed all afternoon! We will be back!
Dinner that night at the sumptuous Palazzo, Ca Vendramin Calergi where we all had a flutter in the Casino, I won and lost the lot!
Next we headed to the Italian countryside…
