TOKYO NOW

My first trip to Tokyo did not disappoint!

The fabulous Megan Morton from The School in Sydney invited me on one of her insider excursions – her first to Tokyo (India, Paris and Kenya are also part of The School’s offerings).

The week was spent whirling around Tokyo seeking out the best of the city which included designing our own coloured ink at Ink Stand, Ikebana lessons with a world-famous Sensei, a day wandering the best food stops with the incomparable Julia Busuttil Nishimura (if you don’t have her book OSTRO –  go get to now!) and uncovering secret Tokyo with Megan’s gal-on-the-ground, Ruth Thomas. Oh, and we go to learn calligraphy with Maybelle Imasa Stukuls – she flew in from San Francisco just for us! (keep an eye out for her beautiful book being published in September!)

MR WALLACE GOES TO JAPAN

So this got me thinking … I need to add Japan to my tour portfolio (I’ve done Mexico and Italy) and I’d love to share it with you. If you are keen to join me later this year (and a very small group of 6 guests, please leave your details below and I will let you know when the first experience launches. We’ll spend a few days in Tokyo then launch off on an adventure through Japan for 10 nights.

I promise it will be fun – and amongst other things, the food will be fab, we’ll shop local artisan collectables, admire beautiful art galleries and of course, I’ll arrange a chic hotel check-in or two!
