Weekend in BANGKOK!!

So I jetted to Bangkok this weekend to celebrate the birthday of one my fabulous friends, Chrissie Lincoln (of Aman resorts).

Destination birthdays are all the go you know?

And what better location than The Siam, the ultra chic urban resort owned by the Sukosol family and under the expert hand of one of the world’s most accomplished GM’s, Mr Jason Friedman.
It has been 18 months since I had stayed at The Siam and I can only tell you that it has gotten even better. The gardens have matured and the luxe rooms are as sumptuous and elegant as I remembered. I took a Mae Nam Suite this time, a vast apartment like space complete with huge walk in bathroom, open bedroom (with the most comfortable beds ever!) and sitting room with a view across the hotel’s Pool Villa rooftops and onto the Chao Phraya river beyond.

The Siam Arrival
Super sleek service starts on arrival, Jason’s team line up at the entrance ready to make every wish possible. A butler to unpack on arrival … You got it!
The pool is divine, you really do feel like you are in a resort in the middle if the city. And don’t fear the hotel’s location , it’s on the river an hour by car upstream from the city centre but with the sleek Siam launch to whisk you up river in 30 minutes – you’ll be on the sky train in no time!

All bookings made with me include the following exclusive amenities:

  • Upgrade in arrival (subject to availability)
  • Breakfast daily
  • A one hour sunset cruise

I suggest stay of at least three nights to soak up the 20’s luxe vibe. It’s classy and sleek and you’ll love it!

HOT TIP

  • Take the complimentary Siam launch in to Saphan Taksin BTS Station and connect with the Skytrain to get around he city – don’t even think of taking a car, you’ll be trapped in that hideous Bangkok traffic all day
  • Stay local, The Siam is traditional Bangkok – eat and shop locally – Jason will give you all the hot tips (he even prints his up to the minute “It List” of Bangkok to help you on your way – you’ll find this in your room.
  • If you do decide to head out one night , make a dinner reservation at Nahm (recently named on the World’s 50 Best Restaurants list) and beprepared for some authentic Thai cuisine (think hot and spicy!). Afterwards head to the hottest new bar in town Maggie Choo’s, a Shanghai style speakeasy located underground at HotelNovotel Bangkok.
